Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
It was so good to see you all at our 50 Days of Learning celebration last night. I acknowledge and thank our Parent Assembly Representative, Ashlee Turner, for assisting us in organising this event. It was pleasing to see our students share their learning with us from this term. My thanks to the teachers and staff who made this event a success.
Next week is the last week of term. We invite you to be part of the following liturgies as we move towards Easter.
Monday 3rd April - Palm Sunday Liturgy @ 2:30pm led by Year 4/5/6.
Tuesday 4th April - The Last Supper Liturgy @ 2:30pm led by K/1
Wednesday 5th April - Good Friday Liturgy @ 9am led by Year 2/3
We hope you can join us in prayer at these liturgies.
Also on Wednesday 5th April at 2:15pm, we have our Dance Fever Showcase. Please come along to see the dances the students have been learning this term.
Wednesday 5th April is the final day of term for students. We have our Staff Spirituality Day on Thursday 6th April. The first day back for students is Wednesday 26th April. We have a Staff Development Day and ANZAC Day on Monday and Tuesday that week.
Regards,
Nathan Trezise,
Principal
First 50 Days Celebration
THANK YOU School Colour Explosion
We couldn't have done it without you! Thank you to all the participants for making our Colour Explosion School Run 4 Fun a huge success. Looking around at all the smiling faces and seeing the fun everyone had created such an incredible atmosphere. A big shout out to all the volunteers who enjoyed the day just as much as the children! Another shout out to all these students who raised $500 or more and got to slime Mr Trezise.
What an amazing effort, together we raised $12,385. This money will go towards our basketball/netball court and the Stage 3 camp.
Some exciting news… Mt St John’s is still in 1st place with the highest fundraising average per student. Let’s hope we stay there for the rest of the year and add another $5,000 to our campaign!
Your prizes are on their way, so make sure you keep an eye out. To all Fundraising MonSTARS, congratulations and you will be receiving a pack of Monty glitter gel pens, well done!
Thank you again for your support and generosity! You made it truly unforgettable.
Colour Explosion Fun Run
Project Compassion
We are continuing to collect toiletries such as soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, brushes, combs, sanitary items, shampoo, deodorant, washing powder and warm items like socks and beanies, all of which will be donated to Pete's Place in Coffs Harbour to help homeless people in our local area.
St Vincent de Paul are also looking for any 2nd-hand drink bottles such as kids' drink bottles (not plastic PET water bottles).
Please help if you can - there is a basket at the front office in which to place your donations.
Thank you!
Louise Sprowles - LOSEC

Rotary Educational Grant
Recently the Rotary Club of Dorrigo was successful in a submission to their District Foundation Fund for a grant to provide money to local primary schools to upgrade educational materials. This grant was supplemented from Dorrigo Rotary Club funds to enable all local primary schools to receive funding.

Our sincere thanks go to Dorrigo Rotary for their very generous donation!

Mothers' Day Market - Advance Notice
This year we will be having a Mothers' Day Market. Many years ago we ran one each year and parents and children loved it.
What is it? It is a market where children bring up to $5 to school and they have an opportunity to buy a gift for their Mother for Mothers' Day.
How does it work? We ask families to send in gifts that they have been given that maybe didn’t quite hit the mark, but that other Mums might love. These are then regifted. It is an opportunity to clean out the cupboards by regifting unopened and unused presents that you may have been given. These gifts are sent to school and then the children have an opportunity to buy a gift for their Mum.
The proceeds from our market will be sent to support Pregnancy Care in Coffs Harbour.
This early notice has been given in case you do a holiday clean out.
P.S. We will also do this for Fathers' Day when the time comes, so keep this in mind.
Thank you,
Sue Darby
