Term 1 - Week 1, 2023
Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
It has been great to welcome the students back to school for 2023 and to meet our eager new Kindergarten students too. There has been a really positive energy within the school this week as the students reconnected with each other.
I thank parents for supporting the children with the late change to our class groups. The students have settled in well to these new class structures. Over the coming weeks, the staff and I will determine how to assign support in each room in the form of Instructional Leadership time, teacher assistants and how we operate as a whole school.
Finally, I invite parents and families to join us for a welcome BBQ on Thursday 16th February commencing at 5pm. There will be a short parent information session for each class. Dinner will be provided. We hope you can join us for this event.
Regards,
Nathan Trezise,
Principal
First Day Smiles
Term 1 Swimming Lessons
Our Term 1 swimming program commences on Thursday for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Swimming is a compulsory part of the PDHPE curriculum.
Students will need to bring swimmers, a towel, goggles, caps (the school can provide swimming caps for those students who don't own one), and sun shirts to school each Thursday for their lesson. There is no extra cost for swimming lessons, as the school covers the pool entry fees and payments to the swim teachers.
Students will walk to and from the pool. Please note, K - 1 students are to be collected from the pool at the end of the day each Thursday as their lesson will finish at 3:05pm. Kinder & Year 1 students catching buses will do so from Dorrigo Public School, supervised by our staff.
2023 Winter Sports Trials
If any students would like to nominate for the 2023 Winter Sports Trials, please ask Kim Brady for a nomination form. Forms are due back by Friday 10th February.
How to Cancel a Canteen Order
If you need to, you can cancel canteen orders before 8:30am on Friday mornings. If you know your child is going to be away you can go into Compass Canteen and select "cancel order".
The refunded money goes back into your Compass "wallet" so you can use it next time you order - when you get to the Confirm & pay screen, click on the down arrow and select Compass Credit.
Issue 1 Book Club
Issue 1 catalogues were sent home today with the students. They have a new format and now look like newspapers! Orders and money are due back by Friday 17th February.
