Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
I invite you to be part of our celebrations as we work towards the end of the year. Please join us in the coming days as we come together as a community of learners.
Tomorrow we are selling Christmas Craft at the Made in Dorrigo Markets. We are seeking students to join us to sell our wares. Please drop by the stall if you have time and are able to support us. The proceeds from this stall go to St Vincent de Paul.
On Sunday, we are joining the Dorrigo community for Carols on the Hill. We have been invited to sing two songs which we have been rehearsing at school. It commences at 6pm at the Dorrigo Anglican Church, 39 Kurrajong St.
On Monday, we have our Awards Assembly. This assembly is a celebration of learning for the year. It commences at 2pm. I invite parents and supporters to attend this celebration to acknowledge the work the students have undertaken this year.
Our Year 6 Graduation Liturgy is on Wednesday at 2pm. I invite you to attend this event so that we can pray with our Year 6 students as they leave us for secondary school.
Don’t forget our beach day is on Thursday next week. Students will need to bring their swimmers, towels, hats and sunscreen. They will also need to bring their lunch; however some watermelon, ice blocks and other treats have been organised as well. We have booked a space at Morgo Street Reserve in Urunga for our beach day. Parents are welcome to drop in and be part of this day too.
Regards,
Nathan Trezise,
Principal
Get Moving Raffle
Mt St John’s School is raising funds to enable us to install a basketball court at our school. As part of the fundraising activities we have a “Get Moving” Raffle. A raffle ticket booklet was sent home last week for each family to sell if you are able to. If you need more ticket booklets, please contact the school on ph 6657 2552 or pop in to school to pick one up.
Please return all tickets and money by Monday morning to Mt St John’s School front office.
The raffle will be drawn on Monday 12th December at the Awards Ceremony.
Christmas Giving Tree
Mt St Johns are doing their Giving Tree again this year. There is a Christmas tree in the foyer with some gift tags on it. Each tag has the age and gender of a child written on it. If you are able to help a family in need, please ask your child to choose a tag from the tree and buy a gift for a child that age. Gifts must be returned to school by Thursday 15th December. Please sticky tape your tag to the gift. Thank you!
We are also collecting toiletries for the homeless. All donations are gratefully accepted.
No canteen next week
As it is the last week of school next week, there will be no canteen next Friday.
