Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
This week our Year 3 and 5 students sat the NAPLAN tests. I commend them on their effort and I have heard that the numeracy test contained some challenging questions. Into next week, students who have been away have the opportunity to sit a catch-up test in Reading, Conventions of Language and Numeracy.
This week, I read a reflection about journeying. Student learning here is a journey and NAPLAN is only a point along the way. This reflection was written by Jan Richardson:
This reflection made me think about learning, as NAPLAN was central to the work we had to complete for the week. Learning is a journey, and it’s long. Learning to read, as an example, can be hard. Imagine trying to read a chapter book if you haven’t yet learnt to read a sentence! So as in the reflection, it is a blessing that our learning opens as we go step by step together with the children.
Regards,
Nathan Trezise,
Principal
