Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
We held our First 50 Days of Learning for 2022 celebration last night. It was a wonderful way to finish the term. We had most students and families attend. My thanks go to Ashlee Turner and Nicola Beckett, our Parent Assembly Representatives, for assisting in organising this event. They were responsible for organising the catering, which was delicious and nutritious. A photo gallery from our celebration is in this week’s newsletter below.
Thank you to all those people who supported last night's raffle, which raised $279 for the Bishop's Flood Appeal. The lucky winners were Bille T (scooter), Abby M (scooter) and Ethan Mil (Cool Cabana).
This week, the students in their classes have led a number of Holy Week Liturgies. Holy Week begins on Sunday as we move towards Easter. By the end of this week, we will have prayed together in liturgies on Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday and Good Friday. All of these will be celebrated in our Church in the upcoming week. Mass times are listed below.
Palm Sunday Mass, 10:30am Sunday 10th April, Dorrigo
Holy Thursday Mass, 7pm Thursday 14th April, St Mary’s Church Bellingen
Good Friday Passion Liturgy, 3pm Friday 15th April, St Mary’s Church Bellingen
Easter Vigil, 7:30pm Saturday 16th April, St Mary’s Church Bellingen
Easter Sunday Mass, 8am Sunday 17th April, Urunga
Easter Sunday Mass, 8am Sunday 17th April, Dorrigo
I wish you a happy and Holy Easter and look forward to seeing you in Term 2. School resumes on Wednesday 27th April.
Regards,
Nathan Trezise,
Principal
We are honoured to be on the ancestral lands of the Gumbaynggirr people. We acknowledge the First Australians as the traditional custodians of the continent, whose cultures are among the oldest living cultures in human history. We pay respect to the Elders of the community and extend our recognition to their descendants who are present.
Cross Country
Thanks to those families who braved the weather to come and cheer at Wednesday's Cross Country. Parts of the course were pretty squelchy after all the races had been run!
Unfortunately we had to postpone a number of events due to the rain. The K-2 Fun Run and the Non-Competitive Fun Run will be rescheduled to early Term 2 - see below.
When: Friday 29th April
Where: Mt St John’s School grounds
Event Timetable
9:15am - K - 2 Fun Run
9:30am - Non-competitive Fun Run
9:45am - Students, parents and staff Fun Run (or walk)
We hope you can add this date to your calendars. It may have even stopped raining by then! We’d love to see parents and supporters at school on this day to be part of the fun.
