Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
Next Thursday 7th April we are welcoming families and students to come in to school to celebrate the First 50 Days of Learning for 2022. It has been a while since we have been able to have family members visit our school grounds, and we’d love to have you back to celebrate learning with us.
Details and registration for the event are in the flyer below. Please register by Monday so that we can advise our caterer of our numbers.
The night will involve:
- a short whole school presentation showcasing each class and their first 50 days at school.
- games to play together.
- delicious dinner provided by a local caterer (see menu below - which has changed slightly since yesterday).
- 2 scooters and a Cool Cobana (beach shade) will be raffled to a lucky winner; tickets will be sold on the night for 50c, with all proceeds going to the Bishop’s Flood Appeal.
This event is a chance for parents to meet the teachers. It is free and is funded through our Parent Assembly. Please register using the flyer below to assist us with catering.
Regards,
Nathan Trezise,
Principal

School Cross Country
Today we held a modified cross country event for those wishing to trial to make it through to Zone Cross Country. Due to the wet and slippery conditions runner safety was paramount, so the course was adjusted to fit within our school grounds. 8,9,10 yr olds ran 4 laps and the 11 & 12 yr olds ran 6 laps of the course. All competitors were excited and keen to take part and gave it their all as they ran through the tough conditions. It was lovely to see and hear students cheering each other on with encouragement and enthusiasm. It was also wonderful to see parents, grandparents and supporters back in school again, the children were thrilled to have you at the finish line.

Easter Raffle Fundraiser
We are holding an Easter raffle again this year to raise money for those people who have been impacted by the floods. Donations of Easter eggs or other Eastery things are welcomed! Tickets are on sale at school for 50c each. The raffle will be drawn on Friday 8th April.
Term 1 Swimming Program
Hopefully we will be able to hold our final swimming lesson next week!
Students will need to bring swimmers, a towel, goggles, caps (the school can provide swimming caps for those students who don't own one), and sun shirts to school each Thursday for their lesson. PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL SWIMMING GEAR IS LABELLED WITH YOUR CHILD'S NAME.
There is no extra cost for swimming lessons, as the school covers the pool entry fees and payments to the swim teachers. Please pack swimming gear even if the weather isn't good in the morning, as it could be fine in the afternoon.
Swimming lessons will take place each Thursday in Term 1 (weather permitting) at the following times:
Stage 3 at 1pm
Stage 2 at 1.40pm
K - 2 at 2.20pm
Students will walk to and from the pool. Please note, K - 2 students are to be collected from the pool at the end of the day each Thursday as their lesson will finish at 3:05pm. Due to Covid regulations Tracy has asked that parents pick their children up from outside the pool. K - 2 students catching buses will do so from Dorrigo Public School, supervised by our staff.
