Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
We have recently engaged in a recruitment process to support the Pastoral Care of students at our school. I am pleased to inform you that Nicola Beckett has accepted the position of Student Support Worker. Nicola will support children in a number of different ways this year. She will support students in the classroom, during play and will provide some breakfast and other learning opportunities around nutrition. See an article further below on our Dumpling meal deal for next Friday.
We have also employed Daryl Harper as our School Counsellor. Daryl will commence working with us as early as next week. He will work one on one with students to help them develop social skills, impulse control, emotion coaching and regulation of behaviour. Daryl comes to us with a wealth of experience. He has worked as a counsellor at O’Connor Catholic College in Armidale.
We welcome these new staff members and look forward to working with them. If you would like your child to be supported through the school counsellor please contact your class teacher to complete a referral.
Regards,
Nathan Trezise,
Principal
We are honoured to be on the ancestral lands of the Gumbaynggirr people. We acknowledge the First Australians as the traditional custodians of the continent, whose cultures are among the oldest living cultures in human history. We pay respect to the Elders of the community and extend our recognition to their descendants who are present.

School Cross Country
We will be holding our school cross country in Week 10 on Wednesday 6th April, so children may want to start training now! More information will be provided in the coming weeks.
Friday Meal Deal
As a meal special next Friday 18th March, we are serving Amei’s delicious pork dumplings for lunch and biscuits and fruit cordial for recess.
A serve of 6 dumplings for lunch and 2 home-made biscuits and a fruit drink for recess will cost $7. If your child would like to order for next Friday, please return the order form and money by Tuesday.
Easter Raffle Fundraiser
We are holding an Easter raffle again this year to raise money for those people who have been impacted by the floods. Donations of Easter eggs or other Eastery things are welcomed! Tickets will be 50c each. Tickets will go on sale in Week 9 and the raffle will be drawn on Friday 8th April.
Term 1 Swimming Program
Hopefully we will be able to hold our swimming lessons again next week!
Students will need to bring swimmers, a towel, goggles, caps (the school can provide swimming caps for those students who don't own one), and sun shirts to school each Thursday for their lesson. There is no extra cost for swimming lessons, as the school covers the pool entry fees and payments to the swim teachers. Please pack swimming gear even if the weather isn't good in the morning, as it could be fine in the afternoon.
Swimming lessons will take place each Thursday in Term 1 (weather permitting) at the following times:
Stage 3 at 1pm
Stage 2 at 1.40pm
K - 2 at 2.20pm
Students will walk to and from the pool. Please note, K - 2 students are to be collected from the pool at the end of the day each Thursday as their lesson will finish at 3:05pm. Due to Covid regulations Tracey has asked that parents pick their children up from outside the pool. K - 2 students catching buses will do so from Dorrigo Public School, supervised by our staff.
